For those I promised the photos (thumbnails and huge originals) to the can be found here: www.jpdurbin.net/Pictures/images/. Anything ending with an M.jpg is a mid sized picture; the others are very large.
Bought a new camera and decided to play. Pentax (www.Pentax.com)discontinued
their 4mp Optio 430RS and
http://www.MurphysCamera.com acquired one for me at a great price!!!.
Time to play!!!
After I bought the camera I headed north on Bardstown Road to a few of my
favorite places. A few friends and I had lunch at Dittos (http://www.louisvillehotbytes.com/ditto.shtml)
so we played with the camera!! (Note: We were new to the camera so the
less than perfect quality shots are more of an effect by the taker of the photos
than the camera!!!)

Tested a dark run from a bright area.

Mixed light.

Bright from dark inside.
There is a nifty little feature this camera has called 3D but we needed to RTFM first!!! Basically you take 2 pictures of the same image but off a degree or 2 rotated left or right. The object you are taking a shot needs to be real still for the effect to work and the photographer needs to pay much attention to placement of the camera!!! The camera generates a stereographic image requiring those green/red glasses to view. We tried and we'll do better next time (if we can find a willing model that puts up with guys and geek gadgets).
First willing victim (Melissa)

The stereographic effect could not occur due to us moving and the photographer
not knowing what was needed (CARMINE!!!). Two Melissa shots are better than
one????
We had to take the bad with the good so here is the bad: Alan in what could
have been stereo!!!

After lunch I ended up playing a bit elsewhere on Bardstown Road:
The Wine Market

Alcott & Bentley

Then I played in my courtyard:

Busy day but I missed a few shots of other places!!!
